Joan E Schenk and Associates (JES&A) will present an Introduction and Welcoming Exhibit throughout Navy Pier in assigned designated areas. The exhibit will showcase local Chicago and related area artists of the highest level and has the potential to become an ongoing program at Navy Pier.

Studio artist. 3D Metal Sculptures and 2D Calligraphy.

Gwen Yen Chiu’s biggest influence as an artist is Richard Hunt, Chicago Sculptor (1935-2023), whose studio she worked in as an apprentice since 2016. She was born in Ann Arbor MI and starting at age 5 studied Chinese calligraphy and painting later enrolling in Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) in fashion and graduating from the School of the Art Institute Chicago (SAIC) – BFA Sculpture. She creates both calligraphy and sculpture in her Chicago studio.
